LabDIDO
The LabDIDO is the distributed laboratory of the International Doctorate in Civil and Environmental Engineering. The following desktop PCs and workstations are available for PhD students. Each PhD student can be provided with one desktop PC, to be installed in one of the DICEA rooms dedicated to the PhD school.

To use a workstation in support of numerical simulations, please get in contact with the LabDIDO's Scientific Responsible, prof. Lorenzo Cappietti.
Here the list of hardware available:

- 7 PC Desktop, ASUS D500, i7, 16GB RAM
- 17 Monitor Philips 27''
- 1 Workstation, 24 cores, 128GB RAM - RONE
- 1 Workstation, Lenovo, i9, 32GB RAM - RINO
Please note that the PCs listed there are intended for use in the PhD student rooms at DICEA - UNIFI in Florence. If your working department is located elsewhere, we kindly invite you to request a PC directly from your department.
However, the two workstations listed in LabDIDO (namely RONE and RINO) are dedicated to numerical simulations. All PhD students, regardless of their location, may book these workstations and use them via remote connection.
Rules for using of RONE and RINO workstations
1 The OS is WINDOWS 10 Pro; therefore, only single-user connections are allowed.
2 Due to point 1, the use of RONE and RINO must be booked in advance using the shared LabDIDO Google Calendar
3 The use of RONE and RINO is intended for running numerical simulations ONLY. Therefore, using RONE and RINO as an "office computer" or for storage is strictly prohibited.
4 You can access RONE at 150.217.10.17 and RINO at 150.217.10.111 using the default "Remote Desktop App" that is running on your Windows client.
5 The development of numerical modeling, implementation, model set-up, beta tests, etc., MUST be performed on your own desktop/laptop computers. After that, the software can be uploaded and run using RONE or RINO for the time strictly needed for the run.
6 Each new user can be a member of the Administrators group for the first few weeks after profile creation to allow self-installation of the necessary software (ask for that and provided that the Scientific Responsible, prof. Lorenzo Cappietti.s informed of the software name beforehand).
7 The F:\user directory (e.g., F:\Faye) must be used as temporary storage space. The use of any other disk space is not allowed. Only output from model runs is allowed in the user's storage area (even post-processing output is not allowed, as this task MUST be performed on your desktop/laptop computers).
8 Data backup is not assured; therefore, each user MUST take care and act accordingly.
