Workshop on the Mechanical Response of Historic Masonry Constructions: Analysis Methods and Study Cases
Monday December 9th 2019
Aula Pacinotti Scuola di Ingegneria dell’Università di Pisa
The architectural heritage of European cities is strongly characterized by the presence of a large number of historic masonry buildings, some of which of considerable architectural value. Despite the widespread constructive practice consolidated over the past centuries, the structural response of masonry buildings is not yet completely known. The workshop is aimed at graduate and PhD students with the intention of providing an introduction to the assessment tools that can be used to address the structural issues involved in the preservation and restoration of historic masonry buildings.
